That is to say, I am going to start trying out some of my new ideas, offering each for a limited time so I can see what works and what needs adjusting or just needs to be retired as a bad idea.

First up – Digital Deal

The most often asked question is “Does your session include a CD of images?”  so I am going to start here.  This is I think a multi-part question, so I am going to offer a multi-part answer.

First up is a set of low-resolution images for sharing on social sites, my answer to this is going to be a CD of the proofing images, sized for on-line (which means they won’t print well) with a small logo in the bottom corner.

Second is a set of high-resolution images for archival purposes and printing photographs 8×10 or smaller, and the ability to order professional quality prints from me at a reduced rate.  These images will also be proofing images (Which means I did edit them for the proofing site, but did not give them my final before printing go over.)

This is the one I have debated about the most.  I understand wanting an archival copy of the session.  I’m a photograph obsessed individual!  My worry is the final prints that people are ending up with from *insert discount printer here* are not looking as wonderful as they could.  So as part of this package, you will have the ability to order high quality professional prints at greatly discounted prices.

Idea #1: Many people ask about getting a CD of images from a session. I am hesitant for two reasons. #1 where will they print those images? There is a real difference in the quality of *insert discount printer here* and the prints I can order. #2 I have talent, I have expensive equipment, I have to make a living with this or go get a job in an office somewhere. So….I am working on a solution that I hope will work out for us all!

I love photography, I have a gazillion photographs, I have very few in albums – actually most of my pictures are in my computer. So for 2011 my goal is to catch up! Okay, to make an honest effort to catch up my own albums.
