Photographed sweet little Elle this morning in her nursery.  I had to include this first photograph in the peek because of the way the light is hitting her hair – see the red?  LOVE IT!

Elle fell into a nice deep sleep and then her mommy and I were able to move her around and take photographs on different quilts she has.  I love the elephants in this next one and how curled up Elle is.

Now I have a whole bunch of other favorites, but I think I will leave you with this black and white.  This is one of my favorite angles to photograph because it’s the view I remember most from when my kids where little – sweet little cheeks and nose with a bit of lips!

Hope you got to enjoy some of this beautiful day – I think mother nature heard me say I want to move someplace without winter so she is tempting me to say with a mild one.  I’ll take it!

I had a fun session with my young friend Abbie last weekend, she brought a cute mermaid tail with her.  I really like this one of her looking bored.

While I take photographs, we always end up chatting.  This time the conversation turned to Toddler’s and Tiara’s, you know the show with really young kids all dressed up and wearing lots of makeup, doing pageants.  Abbie told me about this new photography technique I had never heard of, it’s called Glitz.  I did a search and have to say those girls end up looking like avatars from a video game to me.  Anyways, I went back to the session I did for Abbie for her dance costumes to find one of her with some makeup on and gave it a try.

Here’s my first attempt – it was a miss.

Now my second attempt came out a little better.

She kind of looks plastic-y and fake, right?

Success!!

Of course it’s a total fail in terms of her mascara – they must draw on those perfect long black lines around the eyes.

So here’s what I learned – the photograph that worked best was lit with studio lights instead of natural lights.  Both eyes are evenly lit and so is her body and face.  The first photograph she was being lit from above with window light and her arms and shoulders are darker than her face.

Dylan is seven months old now and just beautiful!

Even though I moved the session from yesterday due to wind, we still had quite a bit of wind to deal with at Gulf Beach.  I got a few great family shots that you will just have to wait to see, this is one of my favorites from that location.

A quick drive to their own neighborhood and we had some great spots for photographs plus no wind!

Photographs with the family pup reminded me of working with siblings!  Challenging in a fun way!  Dylan just wanted to stare at her four legged friend.

He has the longest little legs that he likes to stretch out straight, so I think he might just be tall like his dad.

Landon’s mommy asked for a photograph of his tiny feet with their wedding rings – think how small those toes are to fit in the rings with so much room to spare.

Just look at how wide-eyed and content he was after a bottle.

My daughter turned 17 last Monday, it is hard to believe she was once this tiny!  Never mind that I am old enough to have a 17-year-old!

The next photograph is my favorite of the session.  I know not a traditional portrait, but did I ever say I was traditional?

I enjoy yoga and know how difficult it can be for some adults to balance on one foot.  Doesn’t two year old Zane make it look easy?

Elly has the cutest tooth (I think it’s just the one so far) right in the front – which just makes her smile that much more adorable.

Now I think she has a future as a ballerina, just look at how flexible and I love how she is always pointing her toes!  What do you think?
